Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has announced the programme for the first week of the summer camp with a theme 'Our Summer is Culture and Creativity'.
The camp will run from 1 August till 28 August and will offer a wide range of activities including arts, life skills and entertainment.
Hatta Public Library will host art workshops in Arabic on how to recycle and create using the materials as well as a flower planting workshop on the basics of farming.
The Preparation for Expo workshop in Arabic at Umm Suqeim Library will introduce children to the largest global event taking place this year in the UAE, as well as an innovative drawing workshop using new methods and tools, creating art with thread and learning the art of caricature.
Al Mankhool Library will offer activities including planting seeds, reading stories about agriculture, making and colouring different forms of clay, a doll-making workshop, a free-drawing workshop and the little chef's workshop which will focus on competitions on fruit and vegetables.
Al Twar Public Library will feature developing children's theatrical performances from acting to reading and will also offer art workshops on making penguins out of paper, the colour wheel and making paper hats in Arabic.
Arabic activities on healthy eating, recycling, reading books on handicrafts, making covers for stories and books and ways to make candles using natural resources will be held at Al Rashidiya Public Library.
Hor Al Anz Public Library will offer physical workshops in Arabic on the art of mosaic, drawing a three-dimensional flag of the UAE as well as workshops on making different modes of transportation.
