The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee has announced that the EDE COVID-19 scanners roll out will be expanded and placed at various additional locations.
The decision to expand the number of EDE scanners has come as a result of the successful pilot phase.
The Department of Health in Abu Dhabi has also approved that the EDE scanners are effective and are viable detectors of the COVID-19 virus.
The scanners will be used at various shopping malls, a few residential areas and all land and air entry points.
The scanner will help identify an individual that could possibly be infected with the virus.
The individual detected will not be permitted to enter and must follow the approved protocol and take a PCR test within 24 hours.
The scanners will enhance the precautionary measures set in order to protect public health by using the latest technology.
