The Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has announced that the 13th edition of the Abu Dhabi Art Fair will be back later in the year and will be held in person.
The event will be held at Manarat Al Saadiyat from 18 to 21 November, with the opening reception held on 17 November.
The art fair is held under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Office.
The art fair will showcase new art installations across Abu Dhabi as a part of the 'Beyond: Artist Commissions' programme which brings art pieces to unique locations.
Emirati artists Ayesha Hadhir, Rawdha Khalifa Al Ketbi and Shaikha Fahad Al Ketbi will create the visual campaign for the year with ideas on the transformation of the environment ranging from deserts to cityscapes.
His Excellency Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of DCT Abu Dhabi, said, “Abu Dhabi Art is a platform for cultural connectivity, bringing together artists, galleries, institutions and arts professionals and fostering creativity by connecting them. Whilst the last year has brought up many challenges and issues for the art world, it has also brought forth opportunities to innovate."
Curators and guest artists as well as the details on the event will be announced on the Art Fair website and on Instagram.
Applications for the galleries are now open.
