The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has warned the public against spreading and believing food-related rumours on social media platforms.
Dr Mohamed Al Hammadi, Director of Communication and Community Service Division at ADAFSA said that false information regarding traders has been publicised to disregard competitors which can further damage manufacturing and supply facilities.
The food rumours have also spread due to the Holy Month of Ramadan and urge the public not to share the false news.
ADAFSA is currently hosting a series of programmes that aims to raise awareness of food issues. Based on scientific research, the authorities will circulate information that is studied and analysed.
