A study conducted by Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre found a significant decrease in the magnitude of the COVID-19 infection after receiving the second vaccine dose.
Patients that have contracted COVID-19 after getting vaccinated, have shown mild symptoms and do not require to be hospitalised.
The study showed a 93% prevention of individuals getting hospitalised and a 95% reduction in the need for an Intensive Care Unit.
Deaths have also not been reported on individuals that have received both doses of the vaccine.
Individuals that have already contracted the virus are not immune to it and can receive it again. Due to the virus constantly mutating, the spread of the virus is also high and the virus can lead to long term health issues.
Elderly, people with chronic diseases and healthy individuals are susceptible to 'Post COVID-19 Syndrome' which can include damage to multiple organs, blood clots and long term issues that will require medical attention.
