Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management has announced new safety measures that are effective till 28 February. The measures in place limit capacity at a variety of type of venues around Dubai.
Only 50% capacity is allowed at all indoor venues including cinemas, entertainment and sports venues.
Hotels will operate at 70% capacity and a new bookings will have to comply with this change. Swimming pools and private beaches in hotels will also be limited to 70% capacity.
Shopping malls will operate at 70% capacity.
Restaurants and cafes will close by 1am.
Entertainment activities are currently not allowed.
Bars and pubs will be closed.
Social distancing and face masks should be worn at all times and people that refuse to comply with the safety guidelines will receive penalties.
The Committee has encouraged the public to report any violations of the safety measures by individuals or establishments through Dubai Police’s Call Centre (901) or through the ‘Police Eye’ service on the Dubai Police Smart App.
