The United Kingdom government has announced that the UAE is added onto the UK's travel ban list (red list). This means that any non UK travellers coming from the UAE will be banned from entering the UK.
The ban comes into effect form 1pm on Friday 29 January.
The ban is thought to be a result of the increasing number of cases in the UAE, which has now reached over 293,000, with an additional 3,966 confirmed cases announced today (Thursday 28 January).
Passengers with British or Irish passports, or those from other countries with UK residency, are permitted to enter the UK, however will still need to provide a negative PCR test and also self-isolate for 10 days.
