UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has called for prayers of rain to be offered at mosques.
Known in Arabic as Salaat Al Istisqaa, the prayers are to be performed at all mosques, mussalahs and prayer areas across the UAE.
It will take place on 18 December 2020, ten minutes before the Friday prayer.
President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa has said that the prayers are to supplicate God to send rain, mercy and abundance upon the country and its people.
His Excellency Dr. Hamad Al-Sheikh Ahmed Al-Shaibani, Director General of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) has called on citizens and residents to perform the rain prayer for every able Muslim, in accordance with the Sunnah, asking Allah Almighty to have mercy on the country and the servants and to answer the worshipper's calls and duaa.
Emirates News Agency (WAM) has taken to Twitter to post the timings for prayers across the UAE.
Mosques have recently opened back up for the public and are currently functioning at a 30% capacity.
