Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has joined hands with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) to launch a health awareness campaign for private schools in Dubai.
The campaign aims to educate primary and secondary students about COVID-19 and provide them with health tips so they can take better care of themselves.
The first phase of the campaign will see officials from the Public Health Protection Department at DHA visit eight private schools located in Dubai.
Dr. Hend Al Awadhi, Head of Health Promotion and Education Section at the DHA’s Public Health Protection Department, said: “While schools have adopted stringent precautionary measures to reduce the possibility of transmitting infection among students and to provide a safe and healthy educational environment, it is also important to educate students so that they are empowered to take care of themselves.”
Interactive methods such as quizzes and puzzles will be used for children in primary schools in order to raise more awareness about the coronavirus.
Secondary school students will be briefed about daily sanitisation procedures to follow while using the school bus and after returning home.
Students will also be provided with health tips to boost immunity.
The campaign will be taking place across more schools, both in-person and virtually, at a later stage.
