Some of Abu Dhabi’s most iconic sites lit up on Sunday night to celebrate the capital’s inaugural hosting of UN’s Global Goals House event.
Some of the emirate's most recognisable structures, including the grand ADNOC headquarters, and the Marina Shopping Centre’s Sky Tower, were illuminated with the Global Goals House logo.
Abu Dhabi will be holding a series of online panel discussions which will bring together government leaders, industry, academia, culture and civil society experts to discuss the world’s most pressing issues.
The Global Goals House event, which began on Sunday at Hub71, will be running all week.
A live stream will be held from Abu Dhabi on Thursday for a panel discussion titled: Will the Global Pandemic Fast-Track the HealthTech Revolution?
Among those taking part in the discussion will be panellists from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Abu Dhabi.
The other issues that will be discussed during the Global Goals House sessions include the Black Lives Matter movement, sustainable fashion industry, the global food crisis and investing in businesses owned by African women.
