Dubai Municipality issued a notice to caravan owners asking them to evacuate the Sufouh Beach site on Wednesday, and to wait for the announcement of a new camping site.
Caravan owners were previously allowed beach getaways on Al Sufouh Beach, also known as Palace Beach, for up to 15 days under a new permit scheme.
The initiative had been suspended following the coronavirus outbreak but was resumed in June.
Beachgoers had to obtain an online camping permit on the Dubai Municipality website for caravan camping on the beach.
A tweet released by Dubai Municipality read: “Dubai Municipality calls on caravan owners to evacuate the Sufouh Beach site and inform you that we are working to prepare an alternative camping site and will be announced to start receiving camping requests via our website soon.”
Requests are currently being accepted on the official website of Dubai Municipality.
