His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has arrived in Washington, D.C. to participate in the signing ceremony of the historic UAE-Israel peace accord on Tuesday.
Representing President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and at the invitation of US President Donald Trump, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan will be heading a high level UAE delegation for the ceremony.
Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu will also be present at the signing ceremony.
The high level UAE delegation comprises of Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Cabinet Member and Minister of Economy, Obaid bin Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation along with a number of officials.
The UAE-Israel deal was announced on 13 August following 18 months of talks whereby the UAE agreed to normalise relations with Israel in return for the suspension of Israel’s annexation plans of the West Bank.
UAE is the first Arab Gulf state and third Arab country to normalise relations with Israel.
