Schools in the UAE have been closed since March this year due to coronavirus COVID-19, and pupils followed a distance learning programme for the remainder of the school year.
As schools will re-open for the new academic year on 30 August, pupils will be able to physically be in the classroom once again, however under a different daily structure to what they have been used to.
The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai has published a guide to help students returning back to school, get more of an idea of the measures they should follow to stay safe during the school day.
Called #NewDaysNewWays, the illustrated guide walks through a routine to follow and what to expect from the moment a pupil is ready to leave the house to when they return form school.
The guide follows the first day back to school of pupil Majid, and explains the "Nine Ways" he experiences throughout the day.
The "Nine Ways" according to the new guide are:
- Way 1 - Getting Ready For School
- Way 2 - Pick-Ups And Drop-Offs
- Way 3 -What School Will Look Like
- Way 4 - What Classrooms Will Look Like
- Way 5 - Breaks And Lunchtime
- Way 6 - Outside The Classroom
- Way 7 - Going Home
- Way 8 - Wellbeing
- Way 9 - Stay Connected
