New Free To Join Digital Library Launched In The UAE

With children about to go back to school for the new academic year, the British Council has launched a free digital library in the UAE with unlimited access to thousands of resources.

People learning English in the UAE now have access to thousands of resources to help improve their language skills, including study resources, popular eBooks and audiobooks.

The new digital library is not just aimed at children, and contains free to access content for people of all ages with unlimited access to thousands of entertainment and academic resources, including books, newspapers and some of the best UK movies. It is a welcome replacement to the physical library from the British Council that was in Dubai for 30 years and closed in 2006.

Members of the digital library will have access to:

  • 2,400 newspapers from over 100 countries
  • 4,000 full colour digital editions of magazines
  • 3,000 eBooks and audiobooks from major authors and publishers
  • 1,500 comics for people of all ages
  • 1,500 full length concerts and music documentaries
  • 7,000 independent films including box office hits, award winning films and documentaries
  • 600 theatre productions
  • 100,000 eBooks and research tools in all academic subject areas for all learning levels
