Woman Arrested For Performing Unlicensed Plastic Surgeries From Dubai Residential Apartment

Dubai Police, along with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), have arrested a woman who carried out plastic surgery without having the necessary licenses, and used her own experiences gained from her country.

The European lady performed plastic surgeries form her residential apartment and promoted her services through social media where she has in excess of 100,00 followers on Instagram.

Brigadier Jamal Salem Al Jallaf, Director of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Dubai Police said, "The suspect was promoting her services through social media platforms. She used her own Instagram account that is followed by more than 100,000 followers to book appointments for patients and then receive them discreetly at her residential flat." 

It was also stated that the suspect to advantage of the closure of plastic surgery hospitals and clinics in the country due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic in order to treat patients in her apartment.  

Colonel Omar Mohammad bin Hammad, Deputy Director of Anti-Economic Crimes Department, said they had been monitoring the suspect through social media platforms as she was offering unlicensed cosmetic treatments. Colonel Bun Hammad said, "A joint team from both the Commercial Fraud and Anti-Hacking Section at Dubai Police and DHA managed to arrest the suspect who was ambushed by an undercover female officer."

A female police officer made contact with the lady and arranged an appointment for a cosmetic procedure, and a police unit raided the apartment while she was preparing material for the procedure, and arrested her in the act. 

Colonel Bin Hammad continued, “The police confiscated medical substances and equipment used in cosmetic surgeries, as well as bills proving the purchase of substances and materials used in cosmetic treatments such as Botox, fillers, and more.”
