The Dubai Government Human Resources Department (GHRD) has announced the introduction of flexible working across government departments from 16 August. The announcement has been made to boost the happiness of government employees and ensure their safety, especially during emergency weather conditions.
The new hours will allow government employees to start working anytime between 6.30am abd 8.30am as long as they complete their official defined working hours.
The new ruling does not apply to all employees and excludes those working in shifts and those whose job requires continuous communication with the public.
