Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in association with Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT - Abu Dhabi) has announced that the mixed martial arts (MMA) Fight Island will be on Abu Dhabi's Yas Island in July. This follows a successful event held in Abu Dhabi in September last year.
The event will run over four different nights, with UFC 251 on 11 July and three separate Fight Nights on 15 July, 18 July and 25 July.
All events will be behind closed doors and those flying in for the event including fighters, organisers, judges and support staff, will arrive in Abu Dhabi early to follow guidelines in place, including quarantine, due to coronavirus COVID-19.
The full line up of participants has not been confirmed yet, however it is understood headlining the three championship fights in UFC 251 on 11 July, will be the welterweight bout between champion Kamaru Usman and challenger Gilbert Burns.
UFC fans in the UAE can watch Fight Island events through UFC Arabia which can be downloaded through Apple Store and Google Play.
