Fines On Expired Residence And Tourist Visas Waived

A directive issued by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has confirmed that all visa fines imposed on residents with expired residence visas and visitors with expired visit visas, will be waived when they leave the country.

This applies to all expired visas that expired in early March this year.

The announcement was made by Brigadier General Khamis Al Kaabi on the official UAE Government Twitter feed.

 

 

The announcement confirmed there is a grace period of 3 months starting from 18 May where those affected can leave without having to pay any fines.

It has also been confirmed that this will not affect them returning to the UAE as long as the necessary requirements are met.
