Dubai Police has eased the restrictions on travel to allow more than three people in a car if they are from same family.
"First-degree relatives are also exempted from the limitation and they can travel in the same vehicle even if there are more than three people", said the Brigadier Saif Mahir Al Mazrouei, Director of Dubai Police Traffic Department.
Brigadier Saif Mahir Al Mazrouei adds, "Dealing with a vehicle’s passengers who are from the same family will be different from that involving people who are not related. This comes to boost family ties and to avoid leaving children home alone.”
A fine of Dhs 1,000 will be imposed on a driver if they have more than three individuals in their vehicle, however if they are members of the same family, they should not be worried about this limitation.
