The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (FAIC), to lessen the impacts of the precautionary measures taken to control the spread of coronavirus COVID-19, has announced that expired residence visas, entry permits and Emirates ID cards will be valid until the end of the year.
This applies to residence visas and entry permits that expired after 1 March this year, for those who are currently in the UAE as well as those stranded abroad and unable to return.
The announcement was made by Brigadier General Khamis Al Kaabi, Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship official spokesman who said, “Residency visas and entry permits for those inside or outside the country are valid until the end of December 2020, if expired after March 1, 2020.”
Brigadier General Khamis Al Kaabi also added "Likewise, Emirates ID cards that happened to expire on March 1 shall remain valid till the end of December 2020."
