As part of the ongoing commitment to safeguard public health, Nakheel, the master developer of some of Dubai's key areas, including Palm Jumeriah, Discovery Gardens and International City, has started a precautionary deep disinfection programme, that will run for two weeks at all 647 residential buildings across its Dubai portfolio.
Scheduled to be be completed by 12 April, the programme will include buildings at Palm Jumeirah, Discovery Gardens, The Gardens, Jumeirah Heights, Masakin Al Furjan, Badrah and International City, which will all undergo deep disinfection, covering all common areas including lifts, lobbies and corridors. The programme is using materials approved by Dubai Municipality.
The programme is being carried out during the same hours as the nightly National Sanitisation Programme, when all residents should be at home between 8pm and 6am.
Nakheel has been carrying out a number of public safety initiatives in its buildings, including elevator and sanitisation every two hours and hand sanitiser at the entry of each building.
Even though stores in malls are currently closed apart from supermarkets and pharmacies, Nakheel are still carrying out sanitisation every 30 minutes.
A Nakheel spokesperson said: “We are doing everything we can to protect people as much as possible. We also call on residents and customers to help us help them stay safe by following official instructions, including staying at home, avoiding non-essential activities and regular handwashing with soap and water.”
