Careem’s green bike stations have popped up in a number of Dubai communities and which has got residents talking.
Areas that have Careem bikes are Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Al Barsha, The Greens, Internet City, Media City, Palm Jumeirah, Downtown, Jumeirah Beach Road, Dubai Canal, Deira, Karama, Mankhool, Al Qusais and Al Khawaneej.
To use the bike, you need to download the Careem Bike App, set up an account and choose your membership plan from four options, from 1 day, 1 week, 1 month and 1 year.
Once membership is active users can unlock any bike by either scanning the QR code on the bike frame or entering the 5-digit code on the dock keypad. A green light appears on the dock and unlocks the bike.
Careem Bike is created for quick trips of short distances and getting from point A to point B.
With any active membership, users can take as many rides as they like as long as each trip is less than 60 minutes. If the bike is returned to a docking station more than 60 minutes later, overtime fees will be added.
