The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai has confirmed that schools will be closed for three days early next month. The KHDA announced through its Twitter account that schools will not be open from Sunday 1 December through to Tuesday 3 December, and students will return back to the classroom on Wednesday 4 December.
This is in line with the recent announcement that the public and private sectors will have a holiday from Sunday 1 December through to Tuesday 3 December, which means that school chidlren, along with people who usually get Friday and Saturday off, will benefit from a 5 day weekend at the end of his month and into the start of December.
These holidays mark two occasions on the UAE calendar, 1 December marks Commemoration Day and the holiday on 2 and 3 December mark the 48th UAE National Day.
