It was only in March this year when we first heard of the launch of Dubai Stars, and just ver 6 months later the new attraction it is now open to the public.
On Sunday, 20 October, Emaar officially announced the opening of ’The Dubai Stars’. Similar to the 'Walk of Fame' in Hollywood, however anticipated to eventually be much bigger than that, the Dubai Stars is a stellar star studded walkway along Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, in Downtown Dubai.
The launch event was attended by some of the regional, local and global celebrities who have been honoured with a star on their name.
Present at the launch were painter, photographer and sculptor Mattar Bin Lahej, former Al-Hilal footballer Yasser Saeed Al-Qahtani, comedian, actor, film producer, television personality Ahmed Helmy, film actress Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, singer Balqees Fathi, playback singer, music composer and actor Muhammad Atif Aslam, actress Mona Zaki, and our very own internet star Khalid Al Ameri.
Shymaa Binbrek, General Manager, Downtown Dubai, said, “The Dubai Stars, surrounded by landmark attractions such as Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Mall and Dubai Opera, is touted to become one of the most-visited destinations in Dubai.”
Upon completion, the star embedded sidewalk will have 10,000 famous personalities from the worlds of music, film, art, architecture, sports and literature.
