To mark the occasion of Canada Day, celebrated on 1 July, Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, was lit up in the red and white of the Canadian flag. The full length of the world's tallest building depicted the full flag of a red maple leaf against a white background with red on either side.
This year marks 152 years since the three former colonies of the Province of Canada, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, formed one single territory called Canada.
