A six year old boy has tragically died after being left on a bus that had reached its destination on Saturday 15 June. The boy was travelling with other children in the bus going to a centre in Al Quoz. All the other children had come off at around 8.00am, however the six year old did not and was not spotted as still being on the bus till many hours later. Emergency services attended the scene but could not revive the young boy.
Temperatures in Dubai reached 45 Cº on Saturday and though the cause of the child's death has not yet been confirmed, this is not the first time that children have become victims of the intense UAE summer heat.
In a statement on its Twitter page Dubai Police said “A 6-year-old child of Asian nationality died in a bus belonging to a Qur'an memorisation centre in Al Quoz after all the children [got off] and closed the doors.”
