It has been a busy few weeks for Amazon in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), firstly with the launch of www.amazon.ae on 1 May, seeing the end of www.souq.com and now with the latest announcement that Amazon Prime is available in UAE.
Amazon Prime is the premium membership program that offers subscribers a host of movies, TV shows and other exclusive entertainment options. In the UAE members of Amazon Prime will also get free delivery on local and international orders made through www.amazon.ae and discounted same day delivery.
Membership of Amazon Prime is Dhs 16 per month, or a one off annual subscription is available at Dhs 140 saving over 37% over the year.
An introductory offer for monthly subscribers running until 31 October offers membership at Dhs 12 per month. Still not sure? All customers are invited to a 30 day free of charge trial without any commitment.
"We are excited to provide UAE customers fast, free delivery on products from Amazon UAE and free international delivery on products from Amazon US," says Jamil Ghani, Vice President, Prime and Marketing International, Amazon. "Prime is designed to make the lives of members better every day. It's only Day 1 so we will continue to make the program better through adding even more products and benefits to keep delighting customers in the UAE."
Ronaldo Mouchawar, Vice President of Amazon MENA added "We are thrilled to bring Prime to the UAE just one month after the launch of Amazon.ae. We are working hard every day to expand our product range, give customers even greater value, and continually improve the shopping experience here in the UAE. With the addition of Prime, customers can now enjoy the most convenient way to shop, access unlimited and award-winning entertainment, and shop exclusive deals on Prime Day."
Amazon Prime is available currently in 17 countries and has over 100 million subscribers.
