UAE Bans Boeing 737 MAX Models

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCCA) has banned all Boeing 737 MAX models days after an Ethopian Airlines plane crashed on Sunday, 10 March, causing the death of all 157 lives on board. It was the second tragic incident in five months after an Indonesian Airlines crashed on 29 October last year.

Following the GCAA’s decision,  flydubai’s fleet of 11 Boeing 737 MAX 8 and two Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft have now been grounded  To minimise disruption, passengers are being moved onto the airline’s fleet of Next-Generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
