If you do not have easy access to a playground near your house for children, this may change for you very soon.
Dubai Municipality has begun a new project under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, which includes building 50 new playgrounds and squares for children in residential areas throughout the city.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan’s passion for fitness and sports is very well known, which includes the support of the Dubai Fitness Challenge to Dubai residents. These new project also aims to encourage residents to lead a healthier lifestyle from an earlier age.
The project is already under way, and the list of residential areas that will be getting a new playground is not fully known, however some of the areas mentioned include Deira, Bur Dubai, Nad Al Sheba, Lehbab and Hatta City.
The important factors that will be considered when building the playgrounds include basic facilities, proximity to residential areas, varied needs of visitors, and overall sustainability.
