Dubai Roads Will See Partial Closure This Week For A Race

Dubai roads will witness partial road closures twice this week, on Wednesday and Saturday, for an international cycle race.

The first ever UAE Tour kicked off from Abu Dhabi on Monday, 25 February and will finish in Dubai on Saturday, 2 March after going through all emirates over seven stages.

The cycle race will first visit Dubai for stage four, the Dubai Municipality - Medium Mountain Stage, on Wednesday, 27 March. The gruelling 197km stage will set off from Palm Jumeirah and finish off at Hatta Fort.

Palm Jumeirah, Madinat Jumeirah and Al Sufouh roads will be closed from 11am-3.55pm on Wednesday.

The race will then head to Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah to complete stages five and six, before it returns to Dubai for its decisive stage seven, which will see cyclists starting off from Dubai Safari Park and traveling via Academic City through Dubai Design District and into Mushrif Park. The event will then continue to Mamzar Beach and conclude at Citywalk.

Road closures at the race route will start at 12.25pm and roads will be back into operation at 3.55pm.

The race will cover an impressive 1,000 plus kilometres in seven days and is open to the public to witness.
