As part of its efforts to increase customer happiness, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) extends the SMS services for purchasing e-parking tickets to include vehicles registered in other emirates and GCC countries.
The extension does not require drivers to go through any registration process, they can simply send a text to ‘7275’ including their car number, the zone they are in and the number of hours they want to park for, to purchase a parking ticket.
The SMS services sends alerts to customers when their e-ticket is about to expire asking them if they want to extend the hours of parking and if it’s a yes, customers simply need to type in ‘Ý’ to purchase another e-parking ticket.
Customers who send an SMS for buying a parking ticket during a public holiday will be notified that the parking is free to use during the holiday, and an e-parking ticket will be valid after the end of the public holiday.
“These services are aimed to simplify the payment of parking fees via SMS without requiring vehicles registered in other Emirates or GCC countries to register for the service,” said Maitha bin Adai, CEO of Traffic and Roads Agency, RTA
The initiative is part of the Dubai Happiness programme.
