More rainfall in the UAE is expected according to the National Centre of Metrology (NCM), as cloud-seeding operations are being carried out.
NCM has carried out 15 operations this month and is looking to complete 20 as rain clouds have been hovering over the country.
NCM carried out more than four cloud seeding operations over the past few days and more will be carried out over the coming days to trigger rainfall, which is essential for a country with an annual rainfall of about 100mm.
Cloud seeding is a method used to induce more rain by shooting a salt flare into clouds. Salt makes water particles to collide enhancing the possibility of rain, however it is tough to quantify the amount of rain a cloud can produce.
Todays weather will be cloudy in some parts and partly cloudy in others, with the possibility of rain along with fresh to strong winds blowing through the the day and into the evening. The sea is forecast to be rough to very rough. Temperatures will peak to 23°C and drop to a low of 19°C.
