Dubai people woke up to a relatively cooler and windy morning today, and rainfall of different intensities is expected over scattered areas throughout the day, according to reports from the UAE's National Centre of Meteorology. Motorists are advised to reduce their speed during heavy rain to avoid any hydroplaning.
Hydroplaning occurs when a layer of water builds between the wheels of the vehicle and the roads surface, leading to a loss of traction that prevents the vehicle from responding appropriately and maintaining control.
As you take to the roads today, Dubai Police has issued a warning urging motorists to drive carefully due to decreased visibility caused by the expected bad weather conditions.
According to the weather forecast temperatures in Dubai are expected to peak at 22C and could drop to 19C. Arabian and Oman sea conditions will also be rough to very rough with fresh to strong winds causing dust and sand to blow over the exposed areas.
