Known for its beautiful scenery – mountains, wadis, farms, dams and fresh air, Hatta attracts UAE residents for a much-needed day trip away from city life. However, Hatta is undergoing a major revamp and will soon emerge as a major tourist attraction for longer stays.
Recently, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum paid a visit to Hatta to take a look at the progress in the area and has ordered the appropriate government entities to speed up the execution of the projects as it will turn the city into a key touristic and investment hub.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid took to Instagram to post a video of his visit to Hatta.
The post read, “Today, we visited a number of touristic and environmental projects in Hatta. Our aim is to develop Hatta into a prominent tourist and investment destination, while preserving its heritage and authentic beauty. We expect the entities entrusted with these development projects to accelerate the pace of implementation to bring positive change to Hatta.”
During the visit, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid stressed the importance of giving priority to service, environmental and heritage-related projects, given its importance in preserving the national identity and heritage.
A 10-year Hatta Development plan is already starting to take shape, with airstream-style trailer accommodation and lodges opening recently in the Hajar Mountains.
