From the Far East to the Middle East, the top 24 Asian footballing nations are in the UAE to compete for the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019. Matches of the tournament are taking place across four cities in the UAE, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Al Ain.
The tournament Kicked off on 5 January with the first match between the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain. The match ended 1-1, wth Bahrain taking the lead in lacklustre match, where the UAE equalised with a penalty in the last 2 minutes, converted by Ahmed Khalil.
Today’s line-up of group stage matches are Australia vs Jordan, Thailand vs India and Syria vs Palestine.
The final match between the top two teams will take place on 1 February at Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
