Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic ended 2018 with another title by winning the Mubadala World Tennis Championship (MWTC) in Abu Dhabi. After being forced to pull out last year on the eve of the 2017 tournament, and starting 2018 off by undergoing surgery on his elbow, Djokovic has had a hugely successful 2018 winning Wimbledon and the US Open, and finishing the year off with his fourth MWTC title.
Djokovic beat last years MWTC winner Kevin Anderson two sets to one, coming from one set down to win 4-6, 7-5, 7-5. The Serbian previously won the tournament in three consecutive years from 2011, 2012 and 2013 and has equaled Rafael Nadal's record of 4 MWTC titles.
This years tournament was the 11th to be held in Abu Dhabi since it was launched in January 2009 and also featured Rafael Nadal, as well as Serena Williams and Venus Williams, who was appearing in Abu Dhabi for the first time, and beat her younger sister in a thrilling match earlier in the tournament 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.
