Further to the announcement last week that Pope Francis will visit the UAE early next year, it has now also been confirmed that he is set to hold a Papal Mass during his visit on 5 February at Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi. The mass will be open to all Catholics in the UAE.
Pope Francis will also conduct a public homily of the Holy Father at 10.30am followed by a meeting with the Muslim Council of Elders at the Sheikh Zayed Mosque. Pope Francis will be greeted by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE’s Armed Forces upon his arrival in February.
