Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has built a new station at Deira Waterfront Market. Now operational, people can use the abra service launched between the new station and Al Ghubaiba Marine Transport Station. The water taxi service will soon be launched. The latest development reflects RTA’s efforts to broaden the maritime transport network and it will also help on easing down the traffic situations.
Nazim Faisal, Director of Marine Transport at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, said, "We have built a marine transport station at Deira Waterfront Market and started to operate an abra service between the Waterfront Market Station and Al Ghubaiba Marine Transport Station. The move stems from our belief that marine transport is key the needs of several community segments.”
Essam Galadari, director and CEO of developer Ithra Dubai said, “The project will ensure a smooth traffic flow in the area. The new service will make the journey to the new markets a fun and enjoyable experience. It will also ensure safe and smooth transport for the market clients.”
