Last week, the first ever completely Emirati-made satellite, Khalifa Sat was launched. Taking off into space from Tanegashima Space Centre in Japan, the satellite’s purpose is to capture images of Earth from space. Khalifa Sat has now issued its first images and, naturally, it is of its home.
The image was taken of Palm Jumeirah, as it passed over the UAE on 31 October, at 1:32 pm from its Low Earth Orbit at roughly 613 km.
