A Dubai driver had an experience that is truly the stuff of nightmares. Whilst driving at 140 kmph, his cruise control failed and continued to maintain high speed. The driver was on Emirates Road when Colonel Faisal Eisa Al Qasim, a senior director at Dubai Police received a notification about the incident. The command centre then called the driver who was in a panicked state. The Emirati motorist was eventually calmed down by the control centre. The police tried everything to get the vehicle to stop before ordering two police patrols to clear the road in front of the out-of-control vehicle. After failed attempts at rectifying the situation, the patrols then made repeated physical contact with the car in order to slow it down - which finally worked.
