In honour of the 150th birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, popularly referred as Mahatma (great soul) Gandhi, the iconic Burj Khalifa lit up with his pictures, some of his inspiring quotes and the tri-colour of the Indian flag in the background on Tuesday evening.
The spectacular light show paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi took place twice at 8.20pm and 8.40pm, and was organised by the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, the Indian Consulate in Dubai and Emaar Properties.
Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday on 2 October is also celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence.
