In one of the most highly anticipated one day cricket matches in the UAE over recent years, India beat Pakistan convincingly in the Asia Cup at the Dubai Cricket Stadium yesterday evening.
Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first, however early wickets saw Pakistan all out for 162 in 43.1 overs, and India replied with 164 for 2 in just 29 overs, making it India’s biggest victory over Pakistan in one day internationals in terms of balls remaining.
Both teams now qualify for the Super Four stage, with Hong Kong eliminated, and will face each other again on Sunday.
In the other group, Sri Lanka have been eliminated and Bangladesh and Afghanistan, who have still to play each other, meet this evening to determine the group winner.
