Cricket fever is at a peak among cricket fans as rivals India and Pakistan are set to play against each other today at The Dubai International Stadium, Sports City in the ongoing Asia Cup. The match will begin at 3.30 pm.
It has been reported that tickets for this match had the highest demand among cricket fans and were sold in record time, with more than 25,000 spectators set to cheer on their country.
Expect a lot of activity around the Sports City stadium, as well as in all the different places around Dubai that are broadcasting the hugely anticpated match, as a lot of expats from these two coutries live in the UAE and will gather to urge their teams on.
India and Pakistan do not play agianst each other in head to head series, and only meet when they both participate in international tournaments such as the Champions Trophy, the World Cup and the current Asia Cup. Fans can’t wait for these teams to come head to head as for them, this match is one of the most important each country faces.
The two teams last played against each other in 2016 in the Champions Trophy and are meeting each other in the UAE for the first time in over a decade, the last match taking place in here in 2006.
New-elected Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, who as a Pakistan cricket team captain led the country to win the 1992 World Cup, is currently on an official visit to the UAE, however it is reported that he has no plans to watch the match at the Dubai stadium.
