According to a decree issued by the Royal Oman Police, tourists can now enter Oman for ten days. Tourists will be issued a visa for just five riyals that will allow them to stay in the Sultanate for a reduced fee. Previously, tourists visiting Oman had to pay a set fee of 20 riyals for staying, irrespective of the length of the stay. This amendment hopes to drive tourism to Oman.
Earlier this year, it was announced that services allowing applications for visas on arrival will be discontinued. In order to apply for a visa to Oman, both tourist and express, the process must be undergone online through Royal Oman Police eVisa website.
