UAE motorists now have the option to pay their Road and Transport Authority (RTA) fines in 12 instalments with zero interest rate through credit cards of selected banks. The offer is applicable to all vehicles registered across the UAE.
There is no upper cap set on accumulated fines that can be paid in instalments.
“RTA has launched this service to enable clients to pay fines due to RTA in easy instalments through credit cards over a period of one year without incurring bank interests,” said Ahmad Al Kaabi, Executive Director of Finance at RTA’s Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector.
The seven banks that are on board with the RTA’s latest offering are Mashreq Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, EmiratesNBD, Noor Bank, Emirates Islamic Bank and Commercial Bank International. More banks will be added to the list soon.
To take advantge of this, a motorist needs to complete the payment process through the RTA DUBAI mobile application.
Another option that is available exclusively to Dubai motorists is that payment can be made with cheques, however, instalments this way can only be made if the accumulated fines amount to Dhs 5,000 for individuals and Dhs 20,000 for companies.
