On the occasion of the birthday of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH,) there will be a dry night next week. The Department of Tourism and Commerce have issued a statement saying that Dubai will be dry from 5pm on Monday 19 November until 6pm on Tuesday 20 November.
This means that only soft drinks will be served in any public outlets including hotels, restaurants and bars across the city. All residents in both private and public sectors will have a long weekend, starting from Friday 16 November, resuming work on Monday 19 November.
