Since opening in the 1960s, Dubai International Airport has welcomed a huge number of passengers. Just how huge is that number? 1 billion. DXB Airport is set to welcome its one billionth passenger this year - a huge milestone for one of the world’s biggest and fastest growing passenger and cargo hubs.
The Dubai Media Office tweeted a video to share the achievement.
“The total number of travellers through [Dubai’s] international airport since its inauguration six decades ago will reach about 1 billion passengers by the end of this year,” the video states.
Along with this achievement under its belt, DXB Airport is also the number 1 airport for international passengers for the fourth year in a row, according to Airports Council International. The airport supports over 100 airlines and 260 destinations worldwide.
