Uptown Dubai’s developer DMCC has confirmed that the construction in Uptown district is proceeding well and work has begun on the first ‘supertall’ tower and associated podium at the new district.
The ‘supertall’ tower under construction is one of two towers to be constructed in Uptown district. The towers are expected to be the main focal point of this new destination.
Once completed, ‘the supertall’ tower will comprise luxury hotel rooms and suites, high-end restaurants, health spas, grade A offices and luxury residences. The podium will feature a two-level central plaza, including F&B, retail and entertainment zones. According to DMCC, the plaza will be larger than Times Square in New York and will provide direct access to both towers.
The new Uptown district is walking distance of JLT and is expected to become one of Dubai’s most vibrant destinations.

DMCC has partnered with Accor Hotels’ to bring their luxury hotel brand, SO/, to the first of the ‘supertall’ tower. The hotel is expected to open in 2020 and will mark its entry in the Middle East with its first opening in Uptown district.
