Public sector employees in the UAE will get a week-long holiday this Eid Al Adha, as announced by the UAE government.
The holiday will begin on Sunday, 19 August and work will resume on Sunday, 26 August.
So in effect, the public sector is set to enjoy a nine-day holiday from 17-25 August.
The government announced the holiday dates after the Saudi Supreme Court said the Islamic month of Dhu Al Hijjah would begin on August 12, meaning Eid Al Adha will fall on August 21.
No official holiday dates have been announced for the private sector as yet, however, it is anticipated that the private sector will get holiday from Tuesday, 21 August and work will resume on Sunday, 26 August.
