Mohammed Abdullah Al Hammadi, an Emirati football player succumbed to his injuries in a road accident in Abu Dhabi on Friday. According to Arabic media reports, Al Hammadi’s car crashed into a pole in Khalifa City.
The unfortunate incident has left the UAE sports community deeply shocked and saddened.
The 23-year-old young player was a defender for Al Dhafra Football Club.
The club disclosed the news of the accident on its official twitter account, “"Al-Dhafra player currently and Al-Jazira previously, Mohammed Abdullah Al-Hammadi, died of a painful accident this morning."
The player had moved to Al Dhafra from Al Jazira Football Club. Paying tribute to Al Hammadi, Al Jazira club said, “It is painful news. We offer our condolences to the family of our former player."
